Birmingham Non-Profit Sponsoring MPS Students to Attend National College Fair and Workshop

Save the Date! September 15th NACAC

Montgomery, ALA.– College Admission Made Possible (CAMP), a Birmingham-based 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, is sponsoring 11thand 12thgrade students from eligible high schools to attend the Birmingham National College Fair at the Birmingham Jefferson Convention Center (BJCC) on Sunday, September 15. Transportation to and from the event, along with lunch, will be provided at no cost to participating students. Selected parent chaperones will also be able to attend free of charge.


The Fair is hosted by the National Association of College Admissions Counselors (NACAC), and more than 200 college and university representatives will be present at the event. Participating students will have the opportunity to win a FREE Chromebook.


WHO:  Junior and senior students from the following Montgomery Public School high schools are eligible to attend:

·     Booker T. Washington Magnet School

·     Brewbaker Technical High School

·     Carver High School

·     Jefferson Davis High School

·     Lanier High School

·     Lee High School

·     Loveless Academic Magnet Program

·     Park Crossing High School


High school junior and senior students in the Blackbelt region may also qualify to attend. For more information about which students are eligible to participate, please email Dr. Thomasyne Hill at


WHAT:  The CAMP Pre-Workshop will include information on college majors and careers, college application timelines and tips, completing the FAFSA and financial aid information, and information on how parents can support their children through the admissions process.


At the Birmingham National College Fair, admission representatives from schools across the country will all be gathered in one place. It is the perfect opportunity for students to explore their collegiate options, ask questions about college life, and gather the necessary information to make an informed decision.


WHEN: Sunday, September 15, 2019

Buses leave from Carver High School parking lot at 7:00 a.m.

CAMP Pre-Workshop from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

College Fair from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.


WHERE:  The Pre-Workshops will be held at Samford University, Birmingham-Southern            University, Jefferson State Community College and the BJCC. The College Fair will be held at the BJCC.
